Museu Etnográfico da Madeira

It has of everything related to the island except the people who populated it which was why I went there. To know where we come from. But I only found about the English stay in here, I wanted to know about the other ethnics but I could only find about culture and folklore from the island. Still, impressive

Great museum with lots of interesting exhibits about the history of Madeira. It really highlights how, despite the diverse industrial and agricultural history of the island, tourism's the only show in town. If you're visiting do not use Google maps! It will deliver you to a spot in the mountains about 3.5km. away . The Museum is in town about 200m from the sea.

A small but very charming museum about life on Madeira, past and present. Well worth a visit if you are in Ribeira Brava. Friendly staff are on hand if you have any questions and there are often small working exhibits, traditional boot making, or weaving, for example. At the time of writing there is a charge of €3.
