More than satisfactory as a free camping spot. Unfortunately large groups here playing very loud music and screaming a lot. BEWARE - we took a short walk up the hill to what seemed to be an open field and were chased by a dog guarding a farm. Thankfully it was chained and we hadn’t got too close before it heard us!!

This camping site is free of charge, clean and located in a very nice area.

Super peaceful wild camping, we had a really nice time. For a (free) wild camp spot, it exceeds expectations by providing essential amenities - a toilet block with (cold) showers, toilets and sinks and a picnic area with running cold water. There’s also a car parking area. The small campfire spots brought together a lovely small community when we were there. Location wise, the campsite is pretty ideally located just a few mins drive from the town (that has a few handy snack bars and restaurants) and from the walking trails and surrounding viewpoints.

I think your experience really depends on when you go here. We arrived on a Friday evening to EDM, DnB and other clashing, loud genres of music being blasted out from several tents. Nice to have a grilled dinner, bring coal (we managed to reuse some). Open air showers mean you have to shower in a bathing suit, they are completely exposed showers. One toilet per gender, pretty dirty. Got woken up and kept up about 5 times across the night from football chanting, singing, shouting, glass bottle clanging, torches being shone into tents, at one point right behind our tent. We were supposed to stay three nights but we left first thing that morning after only managing a couple of hours sleep. We did not feel safe at all. Definitely would not have left anything of use in our tent in the day - clothes, shoes, air bed - and obviously nothing valuable. Not safe for kids, in my opinion. One toddler smacked her head on some concrete and cried for a good hour. If you want to get hammered and have a party, you'll probably like it here on a summer weekend (or maybe it's like this across the summer, I don't know). If you want a good night's sleep before some beautiful hikes in nature that you wouldn't be able to get where you live - avoid.

It's a nice place to he in contact with the nature, unfortunately it doesn't have security and decent restrooms...
