Alqueva Dark Sky Reserve

Simply amazing and so, so big area for stargazing. I also visited the Dark Sky Alqueva observatory and loved. Great team and cosy space. I was surprised to be so close a small village but the view of the Milky Way was amazing. Will be back soon!

wow that was one of the most amazing experiences in my life! it was completely mind blowing, totally worth it and above all the expectations!!! the guys who are working there are really passionate about what they’re doing and we could see that they really try their best to make this evening unforgettable and it really was! we could see a lot of things in the sky that we never saw before with a naked eye as well as through the telescopes (like Jupiter and it’s rings or Mars) and got so much information about the space that was so interesting (but easy to understand) and completely new to us! we are definitely gonna be back later to explore more and for sure can recommend to visit this place!

Beautiful and huge area for stargazing. Exceptional night sky full of stars.

Overall it was an unic experience where we could see de dark sky. After a few time in darkness we can realise our eyes adapt and a lot of stars are visible, including the milky way. Something to repeat. Thanks to the staff for excellent work.
