It is a small museum, the truth is that it does not have much to see. At least it costs only € 1 and the ticket is also valid for the Museo do Fresco.
Very close to the Monsaraz castle we find this two-story building that, although according to tradition, played the role of the court of the Inquisition, it seems that it was nothing more than accommodation for a member of the Holy Office or temporary stay of accused before moving them. to Évora to be judged. Today, an Interactive Center for Jewish History is located in Monsaraz, a city where a prosperous Jewish community lived. On the ground floor we find two rooms on megalithism and the history of the city, while on the upper floor we find an audiovisual room and another where some information panels about the Inquisition in the area are exhibited. The museum does not give much of itself; It is very small and there is practically not much to see, except for the information panels; in any case, it is interesting to know some details of this dark period in the area. The entrance only costs € 1 and it is also joint with the very interesting Fresco Museum. The opening hours are from Monday to Thursday, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and from Friday to Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
