As I understand it, there was a defense here - ours held the "dominant height". From the hill where the monument is located, a view of all the surroundings opens. I think you can see 10 kilometers in any direction. I read books about that time ... I was especially struck by the book "Vanka-Rotny". It was written by a front-line soldier who fought in the infantry in these parts. The victory here came at a monstrous price ... The only resource that our then command did not save was people ... In front of the entrance there are two low steles, on them lie the soldier's helmets, which seem to have been found here. Any punctured or rusted. But they were worn in battle by living people ... Until their death they wore ... The monument is well conceived, makes you think ... But it is poorly maintained. Everything is overgrown with grass. The writing starts to fade ... Ivans, we do not remember kinship ...
