Izumrudnyy Les

The please of Izumrudnyy Les is fantastic and there is so much potential for this place. This is my second visit here and I have to say they did not meet my expectations. 1. We had rented a cottage which is supposed to be available for self catering. However, the cottage fits 8 people but there are only cutlery, plates, glasses etc for four people. Also the pots, pans and other kitchen utensils are either not there or such poor quality they are not good for cooking. 2. The breakfast is great but there is only one option for lunch and dinner. Firstly, it is quite pricey and for a longer stay it is unreasonable and also the choices are limited. The room service option is there but it took them more than one hour to deliver and the quality was not great. Also, options such as Diet Coke is not available. 3. We stayed until Monday and were planning to use the pool after breakfast before leaving only to be told it was closed until 14.00. 4. It is supposed to be an international hotel but hardly any of the employees speaks English. But everyone is very service minded and makes it work. It does not help though that the order of dishes is different on the Russian and English menu. Also, the reception has moved since the last time we were here and they only placed an improvised sign in Russian. 5. Naming themselves an Ekotel, it is hard to understand all the plastic boxes and cutlery that is used for room service and water. 6. There is constant work being done both last time and this time which is a nuisance. They are now expanding the hotel with more rooms and I would fear that the place loses its charm of peace of tranquility. Next time we consider a trip out of Moscow, I will have an extra think whether we get our money’s worth here.

Construction wip, poor service

Were with my husband in this hotel from 20.11 to 22.11. From the pros: a large territory, new beautiful rooms, silence, delicious varied breakfasts, a good sports complex, timely and high-quality cleaning of the rooms. Of the minuses: 1) the security guard at the entrance to the hotel doubted our ability to relax in the rest house and advised to find out the price first. 2) At 22: 11 we came to the sports complex, which is open until 23:00. Our late arrival caused a wave of indignation from the staff and was greeted not with a pleasant greeting, but with a rude and raised tone, they say, are we aware that the complex is open until 23:00 and the pool closes at 22:45. 3) In the evening, the room had no cold water in the shower and sink, only boiling water. 4) When leaving the hotel, we did not immediately notice that the bill included alcohol, which we did not order, we had to make a refund. This situation did not look like an error, but more like a common practice.
