Beginning in 1945, houses of creativity of writers, composers, theater workers and a village of academic dachas appeared in Komarovo and the nearby villages of Repino and Zelenogorsk, since the 1950s, famous scientists, artists and writers have been buried at the Komarov cemetery along with local residents (more than two hundred graves ) So the "Komarovsky necropolis" was formed. On March 10, 1966, Anna Akhmatova was buried in the Komarovsky cemetery. The stone for the monument was collected from the shores of the Gulf of Finland. Earlier, on the wall, in addition to the high relief, there was a small window symbolizing the painful past of the camp, but it was laid. Near the monument, there is a cross. Quiet, peaceful place.

We buried another great man from Leningrad, St. Petersburg, Zhores Alferov !!!! He had a wonderful sea of flowers (almost half the height of a person). He had everything strictly, not noisy and with the love of the city. The mayor (Beglov) arrived by himself and before the arrival of the limousine with the coffin. And also at the grave of A.A. Akhmatova (she had a birthday that day), before the funeral of Zhores Alferov, we served a prayer service. And at the same cemetery there is also the grave of Sergei Kuryokhin: musician, composer, virtuoso performer; in my photos I occupied his grave. True, the snowdrifts stood deep and could not pass closer to the grave.

It is hard to imagine another tiny piece of land where so many great names would converge. Usually they say that Anna Andreevna Akhmatova is buried here. But the list is much longer: only those I know include geologists Dmitry and Boris Nalivkina, poet Anatoly Kleschenko, an outstanding paleontologist, whom everyone considers science fiction writer Ivan Antonovich Efremov, almost the entire Mandelstam family - except for Osip Emilievich himself. Of the relatively recent ones - the Likhachevs, and two years ago - also Daniel Granin. And this is only a small part ... In the past, it seems, in the parking lot a church was opened in the name of St. Luke. For those who do not know, a large information stand has been made. It is a pity that the authors wrote more about the church ministry of Voyno-Yasenetsky, and almost nothing about his merits as a doctor. And without this, it is difficult to explain how in our country a minister of worship could receive the Stalin Prize ..

The Komarov necropolis has a huge number of burials of the Soviet elite. Literary, scientific, artistic. It’s like the necropolis of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra, only the middle of the 20th century
