The Lazarevskoye Cemetery was built on the southern outskirts (at that time) of Ryazan in 1774. Named after the church built here in the name of Lazar of Four Days. Many residents of the city were buried here, including participants of the Patriotic War of 1812, the Russian-Japanese War, the Great Patriotic War. In 1876, a brick fence was erected around the cemetery, partially preserved to the present. In the southeastern corner, compact plots for Jewish and Muslim burial sites were identified. In the wasteland to the north-west of the cemetery in 1937-1938, burials of victims of political repression were made. This area of ​​about 400 square meters was under the protection of the NKVD until the end of the 50s of the XX century. In 1968, the cemetery was closed and gradually fell into disrepair. Now in a depressing form !!!! All overgrown - even the monuments are not visible! Who is responsible for this state of the cemetery ??? This is patriotism about fallen soldiers for RUSSIA - apparently only in words and in an immortal regiment))))) ????? But how to get out and bring the grave in order right under the nose ???????
