The Spasskaya Tower is everything that has survived from the once large and famous Vyazemsky Kremlin. It is believed that the Spasskaya Tower was built in the 17th century, but the wooden walls of the Kremlin stood on the current Cathedral Hill already in the 13th century. In general, the modest and sleepy Vyazma was not always like this. After the end of the Time of Troubles, when Smolensk was again Polish, it suddenly turned into the westernmost fortress in Russia. But the ruined state simply did not have the funds for a real Kremlin. Therefore, the Kremlin in Vyazma was small, with wooden walls and six stone towers, of which only one has survived. The central building of the fortress has always been considered the Cathedral of the Life-Giving Trinity, built in stone in 1598. In the middle of the 17th century, it even became the main temple of Russia - during the years when the plague was raging in Moscow, Aleksey Mikhailovich lived here. The current building of the temple was built in 1676 and is considered one of the most beautiful examples of Russian architecture of the 17th century.

The huge tourist potential of the city. Huge cultural stratification from different eras. The state of historical monuments is a separate issue. But I believe that Vyazma has a successful future.

Handsomely. It is a pity that a lot of things were destroyed, not to see.

Actually this is all that remains of the Vyazemsky fortress. The tower is steep, but not used at all, closed by a dull iron door. Near the observation deck overlooking the river.

Grandiose! It costs itself, for many years, and still stands no less. That would be to look at her from the city.
