10 turkish liras to enter. A historical place worth to visit. You can buy souvenirs in the front garden. Can have hard times if you come by your own car because of the narrow roads and expensive parking places.

Halicarnassus Mausoleum (or Mausoleion), located on the upper street of the Coast (Marina) in Bodrum Center, was built in Halicarnassus by his wife and sister Artemisia (en) in the name of King Mausolos, considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Greek architecture with its columns, pyramid-shaped The tomb is very large, with its roof reminiscent of Egyptian architecture. Because of this importance, all the structures in the same style that came after it were called mausoleums. The mausoleum area is organized as an open air museum today. Once inside, a Bodrum type house is seen on the right. In the long building seen on the left, the Mausoleion reliefs, models and some drawings and architectural parts of the building are exhibited. British researcher Charles Thomas Newton took the stone block to its original location during the excavations he did here in 1856-1857. He took the reliefs he found during the excavations, the sculptures of Mausolos and Artemisia, and the parts of the four-horse carriage to the British Museum.

It needs to be more organized! Let the British take what they stole and steal to England, watch the men mount what they have stolen for 2 centuries and display them in the British Museum, then don't put the two remaining stones on top of each other to shape them! Pity!

A great place to inspire me and cool off on a summer day.

One of the 7 wonders of the world. We have to go and see, but nothing remains of the ruins, everything was destroyed by pirates in time. The museum has Columns and Informative writings. I would like it to be found in slides and documentaries.
