The castle is very nice from the outside but the entrance is forbidden. It has been closed and restored since 2011. 8 years in a repair process that does not end ?? And there's not even a nail. It's officially abandoned. Which looks so imposing on the outside. Pity..

Our city is in Kocahisar Village of Kahta district. The first form of the castle, which dates back to the Hittites, dates back to the Mameluk period and was also used during the Ottoman era. It is known that the castle was taken over by Urartu, Part, Commagene, Rome, Sassanid and Arabs. The Castles; There are many inscriptions on the gate entrance, in the mosque, in the eastern sign, and at the entrance gate of the palace. In the inscription on the entrance of the castle, the names of the Sultan of Memluk Kalaun, Melik Eşref Selahaddin Halil in the inscription in the mosque, and the inscription in the entrance door of the palace are Melik Nasır. Inside the castle, there is a hidden waterway leading down to the Masjid, the Prison and the dungeon, the tower where the pigeons are raised, the cisterns, the bath and the Kahta Tea (Nymphaios).

It is forbidden to get into it. So it looks beautiful from afar, but closed friends. Do not come in vain and waste your time.

One of the most beautiful and magnificent castles of our country. Newly restored. It's a little artificial, but it still looks so glorious. It can be seen on the same day as the visit of Mount Nemrut. There is also a small local restaurant right next to it.
