Şeyh Mehmet Selim Seven Türbesi

Sheikh Mehmet Selim SevennHe was born in 1892 in the village of Kavaklı in Hakkari. His father is Abdullah Efendi and his mother is Emine Hanım. He completed his first education with Sheikh Abdulaziz Hani, who was a professor in Hakkari and also his father-in-law. He started to study in madrasahs in Başkale and Gevaş in order to get the knowledge İsna Aşer. After the outbreak of the First World War, he started a gang war against the Russians and Armenians in Van, despite his young age. But on the advice of his teachers, who believed that reading would be more beneficial to him, he went to Sheikh Baha'eddin Bamerni in Mosul. When Mosul was occupied by the British, he returned to Bamerne with his teacher. After thirteen years of restraint, he received his testimony. As a result of his teacher's advice, he returned to Hakkari and started to give education. In the meantime, ‘Border Nesyıh içerisinde found boundaries within the delegation. In 1946 and 1950, he was a Hakkari deputy. He passed away in September 1955. His tomb is located in Hakkari Asri cemetery.
