What a beautiful place . Monastery is usually locked , ask sometime to open it. A local has the key, they are very happy to let you in.

An historical orthodox church in Van.nUnfortunately, no maintenance, restoration is required in case of ruin.nBut even as it stands, it is beautiful.nThe road is quite long, a long part of it is a dirt road, but you can easily go on the road.nYou hardly notice it in the village.nIf the villagers did not give information, I could not find it.nThere is a guard to help.nThis church was bigger than Akdamar church.nIf it is restored, many visitors come.nIf you happen to be in Van, definitely see it.
