It's a free museum. Not very rich in content. It tells the history of Bilecek. There is also an archeology section with more tombstones. Additional information, this building was used as a prison in the Ottoman Empire and later on, and was allocated to the gendarmerie during the republican period. It has been used as a museum for about 20-25 years.

Located in the city center opposite the Bilecik Governorship, the museum was built in 1794 for military purposes. The ground floor of the two-storey building was later converted into a prison. The building, which was completely burned to ruin during the Greek occupation of 1921-1922, was rebuilt on its foundations after the War of Independence; The upper floor was used as a courthouse and the lower floor as a prison. The building, which consists of six wards, four rooms, three workshops, three warehouses, three individual cells and a bathhouse, has two courtyards, one for convicts and one for defendants. The building, which was used as a prison until 1995, was used as a museum building after the courthouse and prison were moved to another location. It has been transferred to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
