Ancient Church of Mary

A beautiful part of Ephesus with some standing structures worth visiting.

It’s not very difficult to get there ... and it was so cool to go to these places ... many interesting ruins .. it seemed that it was a place for prayers and some secret meetings ..

Great site to visit for historical & aesthetic reasons! It's a fair walk & a huge space you can explore on foot. Not accessible. Bring water, sunscreen & light weight long sleeves. Even in cooler weather it's warm in that sun!

This is a pretty site and garden, with a tiny and unremarkable chapel on the supposed site of Mary's maybe house as revealed in visions by Catherine Emmerich. It has little to do with reality, or even biblical evidence. If you have nothing left to do around Selçuk, then maybe the drive up the mountain is worthwhile - join the many tourist buses going there.
