The appearance is very beautiful and very design, and there are guard guards at the door. It has not been opened to the public.
Looking forward to the future, I can go in and see the former administrative bureaucracy.
Historical evolution:
"Datong Home" refers to a two-story reinforced concrete building located next to the former residence of Yanjiatun in the Yanghe style building. It was formerly the garden of the chairman of the Bank of Taiwan, and was built in the Republic of China in 1973 (1964). The former president had met with important places for Chinese and foreign guests and office, and former US President Nixon visited here when he visited Taiwan. The side tennis court is also one of the annexes of the official residence hall of the Japanese occupation era. It was built in the 9th year of Taisho (1920) as a leisure place for senior officials of the Bank of Taiwan.
Mr. Yan Jiaxuan served as the chairman and finance minister of Taiwan Bank with his financial professionals, and later served as the president of the Executive Yuan, vice president, president, etc., at a time when Taiwan’s post-war reconstruction and international diplomatic affairs were the most difficult. Many important national decisions have been strategized here, and the neighboring municipal monument "Freedom House" is a historical testimony of the establishment of the country after the National Government moved to Taiwan.
This monument is located in the vicinity of the Pok Oi Special Zone and the Presidential Palace. It is managed by the Presidential Office Yushan Security Room based on security considerations, but ownership remains with the Bank of Taiwan. The Bank of Taiwan originally intended to dismantle and rebuild it, but it was opposed by folk art and the Taipei Cultural Bureau. In order to prevent the bank from rushing to dismantle the building, the Taipei City Government designated the site as a city's historic site in 2000. Although this was countered by the Bank of Taiwan, it was believed that the Datong House built in 1964 was not long-term and had no particularity. However, in order to maintain the integrity of the former residence of Yan Jiaxuan, the administrative order of the Datong House with the tennis court as the historic site was maintained.
building style:
The "Datong Home" is a two-story bungalow-style building with a garage. No matter the appearance or interior decoration, it is simple and unpretentious. It reflects the diligent establishment of the country before the economic take-off in Taiwan. It has historical significance.
The main body of the building is octagonal, with wings on each side, with a main entrance and exit, and a porch. The first floor of the main body is the foyer, and the ceiling is designed as a new octagonal algae well. The painted pattern resembles the northern Chinese architecture, just like the celebration archway ornaments before the 1980s, conveying the thinking of the “orthodox architecture” of the National Government.
The tennis court next to the official residence is an auxiliary configuration of the higher official residences during the Japanese occupation period. It is rare in fashion. As the former residence of Yan Jiaxuan is the highest level of the existing Japanese-style official residences, the tennis courts are part of the monuments based on maintaining their integrity.
