Has the chilled and friendly vibe one would typically find at a hostel, but it’s surprisingly more than just a hostel. Location is excellent for a 5-minute walk in to Shuishe and Longfeng temple is literally next door (with a bonus of free car parking). Would definitely come back.

Nice hotel and the front office is so helpful..

There are rooms that make you smile. The lake view room in Yue Lake Backpackers in Sun Moon Lake definitely makes you smile as soon as you step in. It’s brand new, modern, well decorated. The Japanese tatami was a really nice touch. It’s perfect to enjoy a cup of coffee while contemplating the view. The breakfast is fresh and the place is really close to the bike path, many restaurants, and the bus stop (while also being in a quiet place, surrounded by nature). The staff is super friendly and will answer all the questions you have, give you a map with all the top attractions. You can take the bus around the lake for 80 NTD and you can hop on and off wherever you want, which is perfect because there are many spots. If you prefer a more active option, the hotel will guide you to a nearby bike rental place where you can rent bikes and also electric bikes if you’re lazy like us :) There is a small hike at the pagoda, perfect for the sunset. Make sure to get there at around 4 pm. You have a full view of the lake and it’s just wonderful. The last bus is at 6pm.
