Hayashi Department Store

Is a really beautiful place to visit. Although is far from the train station but is really worth a visit. The building itself is old and well maintained coupled with the 60's and 70's interior design in the store definitely stunning. Bought many postcards for my friends and sent to my friends overseas. You can buy souvenir as birthday present, wedding gifts or just gifts for friends and family too.

Love the art deco design of this old Japanese department store, the way it's preserved feels like a museum or art gallery. I like walking through the different floors up to the amazing rooftop that still has a Shinto shrine! If you need to rest your feet the coffee shop is usually quiet with nice views. A must visit for Tainan.

Cute little local department store. The stairs are super steep and the elevator only goes to first and fifth floor. Great place to buy small presents for other people if you are a tourist, but also a great place to buy junk you don't need. Probably won't visit again.

The first department store built by Japanese when they were still here. Back then, Tainan was still the major capital and center of Politics and economic.nAfter wwii , the building was banded for a while until last few year the gov bring it to live again. Highly recommended to visit here and you will know more about the history of Taiwan a bit more.

Very nice place. Has a very Japanese vibe and there are so many cutesy stuff to buy. Go to the top where you will see a very nice view.
