Baozang Temple

The Buddhist temple itself is well-preserved and clean, with many exquisite carvings, especially the part of the mountain gate facing the dragon and tiger and the unicorn. But there is a bunch of fluorescent lamps in the middle of the main hall, which is very abrupt and ugly, I don't know which genius came up with it.

This is a temple belonging to traditional folk beliefs. The main hall on the first floor worships Guanyin Buddha, the back hall worships the Virgin Mary, and the second floor worships the Jade Emperor. On the left side of the first floor, there is the enshrined Lord Dou Mu Yuan (Morizhitian Bodhisattva). The temple was built in the 11th year of Emperor Kangxi (1672). It is a folklore that when the Emperor Jiaqing traveled to Taiwan in the 57th year of Emperor Qianlong (1793), he was hunted and killed by bandits. Yuzhengjeon is the treasure of the town and temple.
