Lukang Old Street

Actually a really nice little Old Street to visit! It’s not as big as say Jiufen, but it also isn’t as tourist-y! There’s also very local stands around it and plenty of temples! If you’re looking for a real feel of Taiwanese culture I’d come here!

I really like to stroll on the old street. This time I came to Lugang Old Street, the houses were remained well which you can totally feel the past time and some culture. However, to gain more money, there are some people selling modern stuff in the street, which made a conflict that you can see when strolling there.

This old street has the best conservation n preservation of Taiwanese culture. Many practices forgotten by other places are kept intact at Lugang. You can find all sorts of paraphernalia here. The latest addition to this lovely place is Rex Coffee - with a logo that is inspired by the T-Rex dinosaur! 🦖🦖 It may have a simple facade of clean lines and colours but the inexpensive coffee here speaks volumes! Other favourites are the slivered yam cakes as well as hand roasted nuts, not to mention the whole array of traditional desserts.

The old street area is really beautiful after shops are closed.

Great place to visit. A lot of interesting store. But they closed early at 6
