Fo Guang Shan

We happen to be in town during Chinese new year and wow what a special surprise, the lights and lanterns were like a fairytale! We felt like we were living out our childhood dreams such a beautiful sight.

A great place to experience Taiwanese culture. It is a great place to visit during Chinese New Year.

Fo Guang Shan hosts one of the biggest and the brightest Chinese New Year Festival. It runs for 15 days from January 25, with all the state of the art lights, lanterns, fireworks exhibitions and performances. There are also a lot of food choices around. Come and join this year's Chinese New Year Event!!

A very solemn place of worship and an excellent place to learn more about the origins of Buddhism and its development in ancient China and modern Taiwan. Also, take some time to admire the stunning architecture and wonderland-like atmosphere of the place. Would definitely recommend for friends and family to visit as a day trip, as it isn’t very far from the Kaohsiung city centre. A must visit attraction if you travel to Kaohsiung, the Southern Harbour capital of Taiwan.
