Kaohsiung Zhuliao Water Intake Station is located on the banks of Xia Danshui River (now Kaohsiung River) in Dashu District, Kaohsiung. It was built during the Japanese colonial period in 1913, and it has been nearly a hundred years ago. It is an important historical heritage of Taiwan’s waterway facilities. , This water intake station is still in operation now!nnThe main building of the water intake station is a western-style building in the Japanese colonial period, with red brick walls, curved facades and eye-catching green window lattices. The machine room and repair plant are large-span wooden frames that can be equipped with modern pumping equipment; as for the style of the building Because it was influenced by European modern design at the beginning of the twentieth century, it is very distinctive.nIn addition to providing abundant irrigation water for agriculture in Dashu District, the water intake station is also the heart of the earliest tap water system in Kaohsiung. It is a revolutionary and universal construction project in the history of Kaohsiung's urban development. It is listed as a third-class monument by the Ministry of the Interior.

When I came back to visit this year, the level of dilapidation of the buildings is worse than before. Although they are cultural heritage, they have not been well maintained and may collapse soon...Does our government really want to develop tourism? People lament...
