Li-Hsiang Apartment Beef Noodle Bowls

We were prepared to be underwhelmed due to the possible overhype. But no. This place really deserves its acclamations! We ordered beef noodle soup, dumplings, and bean curd— and everything was good. 3 for 3 is 100% yo! Wish they took credit card so I could bring the whole family back.

Spotted this place a while back and finally got the chance to come in and enjoy a hot bowl of beef noodle soup on a cold day. Ordered the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup/麻辣紅燒牛肉麵 with regular noodles ($200NT) and some braised appetizers/滷味.nnFirst, I'd like to note that the place is really clean and the service was on point. The waitresses were very attentive and they have a dedicated braised appetizer bar with the menu and pricing on the side. I think the owner or manager happened to be in the store at the same time showing some guests around and still took time to seat patrons when the waitresses were busy with other things. Good service is something I oftentimes feel is overlooked in this country.nnNow back to the food: I accidentally ordered the wrong type of beef noodle soup (meant to order the regular beef noodle soup/紅燒牛肉麵) so when the bowl came it had tofu and duck blood cakes/鴨血, something I'm not too particularly fond of. I notified the servers and said that I made a mistake when ordering and was wondering if it would be possible to swap to the other one but they said I couldn't; however, the waitress said that they could swap out the duck blood cakes for tofu and I agreed.nnThe soup base was extremely flavorful and the tofu was good; however, I feel like the cuts of beef definitely could've been higher quality especially with the price I was paying. I also feel that the noodles were just average (but I do want to try the knife cut noodles in the future). The braised appetizers tasted great but I did feel like they were sitting in the broth for a tad bit longer than usual.nnOverall, the food was good but there definitely are certain areas for improvement. The cleanliness and the service are noteworthy. I look forward to coming back and trying the different variations in the future.

Taste is really up to personal preference, I’d say it’s good.nnI’d like to focus more on the environment and service. Its very clean and the staffs are friendly and well mannered. Something that is hard to find in Taipei I’d say.

Overall good quality of food, especially the dumplings. Despite previous comments on the prices, it is fairly priced comparing with similar restaurants in the vicinity like Shih Li An and CEO Beef Noddles. Very hospitable staffs!
