Lots of fleas don’t stand on the grassnI don’t think this is a great place to comenThough the building is interesting and appealing
During the Qing Dynasty, in the fourth year of Tongzhi (1865), Yilan Juren Huang Jianxu, Bagong Li Fengshi, Huang Xuehai, and gentry Lin Guohan, etc., since there was no Confucian Temple after the establishment of the Kavalan Hall in the Jiaqing period, they initiated the establishment of the county government. The site is on the left side of the current site of Yilan Hospital, Xinmin Road, Yilan City, with an area of about 1,000 square meters, which is between Xinmin Road and Chongsheng Street. After initiating the construction of the Confucian Temple, only Panchi and Hongmen were built, and construction was suspended due to shortage of funds. In the 7th year of Tongzhi (1868), Yang Shifang, the emperor of the township, and the first and second scholar, Li Wangyang, the squire, Huang Qiang, etc., were launched again. Local people responded, and there were as many as 120 directors of the temple. The project started on August 15th in the eighth year of Tongzhi (1869). The magistrate Ding Chengxi set a deposit. Chen Weiying, the head of the Yangshan Academy, imitated the style of the Tainan Confucian Temple and drew the architectural drawings. It took ten years to sit north and south. , Cost one hundred thousand silver dollars. [1]nnIn the first year of Guangxu (1875), the Kavalan Hall was restructured into Yilan County. Confucianism was established in this temple, and Minglun Hall was completed in that year[2]. In the 4th year of Guangxu (1878), the Hongmen Gate, Wanren Palace Wall, Qingyun Bridge, Memorial Archway, Limen, Yilu, Yimen, Zingxingmen, Tianjing, Liangying, Hatchback, Dacheng Hall, Chongsheng Temple, and Li Library, Leku, Minglun Hall, Kuiwen Building and other buildings [1].nnAt the beginning of the Japanese occupation period, it was conscripted as a garrison hospital[3], and it was renovated in 1905[1]. During the Second World War, it was bombed by the Allies because of the grain warehouse[3]. In the early post-war period, the main building had shattered tiles and rafters, almost in ruins[1][4]. In March 1949, Chen Jiangliu, the mayor of Yuanshan Township, and others proposed to Yilan City Mayor Yuan Dajin to move the Confucian Temple to Yilan Shrine [5]. On October 1, 1952, the provincial chairman Wu Guozhen inspected the Confucian Temple[6]. At that time, provincial councillor Guo Yuxin proposed to build it[7]. On March 3, 1953, the Yilan Citizens' Representative Meeting discussed the construction of the Confucian Temple and decided to build it on the spot [8]. However, at the end of the year, the parliament decided to make a new temple site in Xiaolianli, which triggered public protests[9][10].nnThe demolition of the old temple was contracted by the Yilan City Office and Councillor Guo Qirong. It stated that if the old timber was more than two inches wide and three feet long, Guo Qirong would use it. However, the city office failed to fulfill the contract. This matter was a sensation in Yilan County. On March 8, 1957, Judge Lin Yuxuan declared Guo Qirong innocent. [11]nnOn August 5, 1964, the Yilan County Council agreed to transfer more than 1,200 land in the old temple from Yilan County to Yilan City Office for use as a central market [12].nnNew temple edit
Very quiet place surrounded by high walls
It's quiet, but it really needs to be renovated!
I have been there before, and the environment is quiet and suitable for thinking.
