Hualien Car - Easy Car Line

Others with international drivers licenses have commented that they were able to rent a scooter here with no issues, unfortunately I was not so lucky. I messaged this company on LINE one month before my trip to Hualien and asked SPECIFICALLY if they accept international licenses, they answered yes. I went to the bank and transferred the deposit, gave them all my personal info, everything was taken care of weeks in advance. When I got there, they then told me I don’t have the right type of license to rent a scooter. They did not apologize, they did not take responsibility for giving me false information or making me put down a deposit weeks in advance for a scooter they refused to rent to me, and they did not offer to make amends or suggest another place to rent a scooter. I had already arranged with the company to help me book a whale watching trip for the next day, after they refused to rent me a scooter they asked me if I had my own transportation to go to the docks for whale watching or needed a shuttle to pick me up from my hotel. Is that a joke? I walked around the corner to another rental agency and within five minutes had rented a scooter that looked much nicer than the beat-up old scooters they had sitting outside. I’d recommend one of the many other rental agencies that will happily rent you a scooter for a good price.
