You could take a bus here directly to wulai or Yang ming Shan.

2021 update: Get on the bus at 0800, arrive at the Xiaoyoukeng service station at about 0910, and climb to the main peak of Qixingshan Mountain (1.6K)-Qixingshanshan Mountain (+0.15K)-Lengshuikeng (+2K), and arrive at Tau at about 1210. On the return journey, you can take the 108 Yuyuan Bus (the trolley on weekdays, arrive at Yangmingshan Bus Terminal), and the Xiao15 (the trolley, arrive at Jiantan MRT Station). There is a stall selling stinky tofu and bamboo shoot soup next to the Yangmingshan Bus Terminal. After a meal, you can take 260 (1 every 15 minutes to Taipei Main Station) or Red 5 (to Jiantan MRT Station) to go home. Maybe the reverse next time, after climbing to Jinshan hot spring. You can take 849 to Wulai. When you get to the last station, you can go faster. If you want to go faster, you can ride at the green bottom Sindian (?)
