Shuanglian Market

It is a morning market that catered to local customers, lot of fresh vegetables and meats and fruits. If you were a tourist, I recommend you try some of the fresh fruits which changed with season and price are very reasonable. These fruits are fresh and in season, you will never find in your own country, trust me, I have grown up in this neighborhood and moved to US for 40 years. I know what I am talking about.

A vibrant traditional market provides good breakfast, lunch and fresh fruits for travellers. The nastalgic buildings are fitting in the old times of lifestyle.

This is a crowded local market with low level selling not really targeted at the tourist market. We did enjoy the walkthrough and you can pick up a good feed or the odd household item here. There's a nice walkway park here that provides a nice place to sit on a warm day. They also sell clothes, bags, shoes, tea sets etc but I would describe this as not a tourist market but an interesting place to dodge the odd scooter and soak up some true Taipei.

Not very big but good for a quick visit. More like a traditional street market. Cheap eats to take home and produce. Mostly "mature", elderly and retired folks. I call it the "old folks day market"! As opposed to the night markets catering to Young folks.

A classic night market with lots of different Taiwanese food stands and drinks. Fun to go visit :) There is always something something new and interesting to see here. It does get busy and crowded during the weekends so be ready for that. But I think that's part of the fun and cultural experience :)
