In a society full of overt materialism and pretense, this licensed and legal guest house offers a sense of ease, comfort, and authenticity. The property is managed by a family, where one can tell that the interior and exterior decors are designed and maintained by themselves. A touch of rusticity in combination with cleanness, order, and harmonious natural ambience. A various collections of trees and flowers are planted for years - not only a treat to the eyes but also a peaceful welcome by the Mother Nature. I recommend to stay at their suites with mountain views, especially calming and therapeutic during a slow weekday gateway. The hosts are all very sincere and hospitable. Their artisan bread is one of the kind - the taste is homey and delicious, with the uniqueness that can only match this place’s extraordinary characters. They also adopt three stray dogs, nurtured and well fed. It is rare to see a local hospitality business willing to take risks to adopt so many canines, because not every customer is a dog/cat/animal person. Oh, they also insist to provide shower-only facilities, due to the fact that there is no reliable, government-constructed water supply system throughout Cingjing Area. Meaning that all the water each customer enjoys is literally coming from mountainous raindrops. By doing the above-mentioned traits, they are naturally giving up many business opportunities of attracting more tiers of clients that would otherwise happen. I Respect that. The Cotswolds Villa is the Bed and Breakfast that most down-to-earth and eco-friendly in the area. I recommend it to anyone who needs a gateway not only to relax and get close to the nature, but also to support a local SME with values and purposes.

I had a wonderful stay with my gang here in the plum rain season. The owner not only provided us with warm hospitality but also recommended to us where to dine. The interior design was reminiscent of traditional English home whilst we enjoyed the splendid mountain view from our terraces. There is also a fabulous view of the mountains from the dining area if weather permits. To sum up, without comparison, I even doubt I would look for another hotel the next time I visit Mt Hehuan.
