A century-old monument, a spiritual mentor for students.

Yuheng Palace: Founded in the 27th year of Guangxu period of Qing Dynasty (1901 AD and Meiji 34 years), it was mainly dedicated to the worship of Emperor Guan Sheng, followed by Guanyin Bodhisattva and Emperor Jade Emperor. The name was changed to Confucius Temple, supplemented by the gods. The gods were not joined together until after the restoration. In the 63rd year of the Republic of China, the Tongming Hall of the Heng Palace was planned to be built above the Confucius Temple. ======================= The Confucius Temple in Xiangshan was founded in the 27th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (AD 1901). It was initiated by the squires Tang Tong, Hu Lanxiu, Hu Azhen, Peng Jinxiang, etc. In the early days, the place was named Henggang Huamao Ping. Xiangshan. During the initial period, three Caoan Temples were built to enshrine the Lord of Three Graces, which was the Jade Heng Palace-Dadong Temple. At that time, at the beginning of the Japanese occupation, there were many out-of-school children in the mountains and local people of insight, so they created the [Xianshan Sinology Academy] to honor the Supreme Holy Master and extend the teaching of the Four Books and Five Classics. Sinology is on fire. At the end of the Japanese occupation, the Japanese suppressed the Tao and promoted the Buddha. The Yuheng Palace was also affected. Later it was renamed Confucius Temple. After the restoration of Taiwan, the poet Mo Ke gathered to chant, creating a poetry society, striking together with chanting, and writing style. The place where the Confucius Temple is located, because of the high terrain, the horizon is extremely broad, looking from the west, the flat fields and green fields of the Miaoli Basin have a magnificent panoramic view. Every year on Teachers' Day, all circles in Miaoli County hold a memorial ceremony for Confuciuses in order to show respect for the Most Holy Teacher. The temple building is made by the famous architect Mr. Xie Yunde. The simple shape with delicate beauty. The elephants and flying phoenix sculptures in the front porch reflect the pictographic mountain range and the legend of the phoenix cave. It is unique in Taiwan ’s temple architecture. There are folklorists and teachers and students from the Department of Architecture.
