Pretty fun experience if you’re stopping in Houtong! For about $8 USD per person you get to see a small part of the above ground mine. Play wit the the equipment and ride on the tracks. Super fun, even for adults!

Very cool little mining museum. You get to try out real mining equipment.
The tour let you take a short ride into a mine shaft. And you get to experience the couple pieces of mining equipment. It was nice, but rather short tour.
This is Houtong Cat village, this place is for Cat lovers, this is ideal also for biking. This was a coal mining plant also but since Taiwan switched into other source of energy what they is they turned it into a Tourist spot, the coal or mining train tunnel path they made it into an activity where you can ride a small train going inside and experiencing what it was like back then.
