Hukou Station

On October 30th, 19th year of Emperor Guangxu of Qing Dynasty (1893), the Keelung-Hsinchu section of the railway was completed and opened to traffic, and the Dahukou Train Terminal began operation on the same day. After the Japanese occupation, the Dahukou Departure Ground (greeting station) was changed to a parking lot in the 35th year of Meiji (1902), and it was renamed Hukou Station on October 1st in the 9th year of Taisho (1920). The Hukou Station before the change was located in today’s old Hukou. Due to the large slope of the station, it is said that when the train enters the station, sand must be sprinkled on the track to increase friction to make the train stop smoothly. Hukou Station, which has just been rebuilt in 1991 On November 1st of Showa 4 (1929), when the dual-track construction and rerouting between Pingzhen and Yamazaki were completed, the station was also moved to the relatively gentle slope Xinhukou (current location) area, July 1, Republic of China From the second-class station to the third-class station, the station building seen today was rebuilt in 1949. Due to the railway rapid transit plan, it is planned to rebuild the Hukou station station building into a cross-station design. Construction started on July 29, 1998. It is planned to complete the reconstruction of the station building in two stages. The second station will be completed on July 29, 100. The original station building will be closed and demolished from the same day, and the former station will be rebuilt on site. The new station building, the former station building was completed on April 30, 101, the overall project was officially completed in November of the same year, and the opening ceremony of the new cross-station station building was held on December 18.
