Dianji Temple

A Taoist Temple located in ok need of Taiwan's most famous food market, Miaoko, Outside Entrance of Temple. The Temple was first built in 1873 and completed in 1875 and then rebuilt in 1923 and 1964.

Amazing temple. There is full of great decorations. Also great local food vendors are around. One of great places to visit. It shows the traditional life of locals.

Interesting temple built right into the housing block. Be sure to check out the richly decorated section at the back too!!

The temple which gave the night market its name (‘temple mouth night market’). It is pretty ordinary but I do like it being surrounded by lively market.

Typical example of temples in the area. Most of the carvings are painted, so it is much more colorful than many others, but to us the coloration was overpowering and gaudy, detracting from their impressiveness. Worth checking it out if you're in the area already for the night market, but not something to set as a destination.
