Church of St. Onufriya was built in the second half of the sixteenth century. It was built as a defense and was included in the defensive zone of the city together with the castle and synagogue. The temple is traditionally a drill. The thickness of the walls of the temple is more than two meters. The architectural forms of the temple are quite monumental and have a pronounced defensive character. The arched windows are located at the level of the second tier and served as defensive loopholes in enemy attacks. The church is surrounded by a defensive wall. It used to be much higher. During the Turkish occupation of Podillia in 1672-1699, the Turks converted the church to a mosque. The minaret served as a defensive tower over the porch. The church is now the parish of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic community in the city. The temple is included in the list of historical and architectural monuments of Ukraine.
