On the left bank of the picturesque river Psel, for eighteen kilometers from the district center and twenty kilometers from the Gadyach railway station, a picturesque Ukrainian village Sosnivka stretches across the Poltava region. It was formed in the XVII century and belonged to Hadiach's first hundred Hadiach regiment. From 1750 to 1785 the village was the property of hetman K.G.Razumovsky, and then it was sold to the treasury. At that time Svinnarnaya (so called then the village), had 92 farms, in which lived 759 inhabitants. Interesting history of the name of the village. The old-timers say (this is also confirmed by museum records) that even before the onset and at the time of the village on the neighboring right bank, the village of Mali Budyshcha was a monastery. And on the left bank of Psl there was a hilly area with a lot of ponds. To arrange a monastery and church, the monks conceived to grow pigs and have the necessary income from it. It was simply impossible to find a more suitable locus for pig grazing: there were water and hills overgrown with grass and weeds. They built pig farms and grazed pigs in the hills, and the area began to be called Svinnarnaya. So, when the Gaddian Cossacks chose her to settle, she already had, though not very sonorous, but still, her name. He did not change it. The village was called Svinarnaya until the twentieth century.
