Interesting place but little left :(
Rotundale (round) church of 1855. It was a manor temple of small nobles Kanevsky. There was also a two-story palace and other buildings nearby, now only destroyed farms of the Soviet period. At the same time, the church served as a warehouse. The owner of the estate, Mykhailo Kanevsky, died in the war, and the hostess was killed by the Bolsheviks in 1917. The church is unique, because there are only 3 of this form in the Kyiv region. And even then, one of the three is still being rebuilt because it was destroyed.
The place is beautiful, but needs restoration.
A cool place, very interesting church architecture, crosses of an unusual shape, a dome and huge window openings that are not characteristic of Orthodox churches. What a pity that such an architectural structure was allowed to such a state. Thanks to the people who maintain order on the territory.
Abandoned
Village Voskresenskoye, wound farm Kanevsky, Kozin Farm, according to other sources, "the village Malyya Yanenka, Pereyaslavsky volost, called today Voskresensky, in 1149 was called Yanchino village."
These picturesque ruins were a personal garden of the family estate of the gentlemen of the nobility Kanevsky (the Staets adviser and his wife).
A small manor house - a two-storeyed palace in the style of classicism, an outbuilding, a garden house, a carriage workshop, 2 mills. By our time, nothing has been preserved. Now in place of the estate - half-ruined cowsheds of the era of collectivization, and the rest of the territory is a wasteland, overgrown with weeds. Locals refer to the rotunda to the XVIII century. However, judging by the architectural features, most likely - the end of the XVIII - early XIX centuries. The church belongs to a very rare type of large rotundal temples. The rotunda is crowned by a spherical bath, skillfully laid out of bricks. Unfortunately, the bath sphere can only be seen from the inside - only traces of destruction are visible from the outside, and it is not possible to restore the overall picture. On the west side it is adjoined by a massive two-storey extension (tambour), made in the style of classicism. On the second floor of the vestibule is an arched balcony, which was led by two staircases. The tambur is crowned with a classic triangular pediment. Of particular interest is the frieze, which is under the pediment - it is decorated with a number of Maltese crosses. Rotunda is cut through high arched windows.
Inside the church, practically nothing has been preserved - only a small elevation in place of the altar part. Traces of frescoes are also missing. It was not possible to establish the name of the church. Local people say that the service was ruled by the Orthodox rite. However, the architecture of the object is very specific, more inherent in Catholic architecture than Orthodox.
Obviously, the Kanevskys were ethnic Poles, of whom, as is well known, there were many among the imperial nobility of Ukraine. In addition, the Maltese crosses very much resemble the Masonic symbolism (Freemasonry was spread among the nobility on the territory of the Russian Empire at the end of the XVIII - early XIX centuries).
There is evidence that previously wooden steps were still preserved and it was possible to climb onto the dome of the church and the bell tower. The farm was very rich, growing goats and other cattle. Sisters Kanevsky were kind to people, a poet and called the village Resurrection, as for the residents life was a continuous Sunday. Kanevskaya paid coins even to the children for collecting pills in the garden. With the advent of the power of the Soviets, instead of the manor, sheds-pigsties were made, the garden was uprooted, and a grain depot was made in the church. The villagers cried, remembering Kanevskaya. She was shot in a carriage on the bridge in Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky by the Bolsheviks. In my opinion, if there is a desire and sufficient funding, the rotunda is quite possible to restore and lead to the appearance approximated to the original one. If you are in these places, I recommend to visit.
