Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. 1778. (UOC) For the first time, Svalyava is mentioned in the Latin text of 1263. In 1692, it was a question of a long church parcel. In 1733, for the priest Fyodor Tsivankankovich in Svalyava, there was a wooden church under a straw belt with two bells. Branches were in Bystry and Drachin villages. In 1737, the construction of a stone church, which ended in the priest Alexei Manaila in 1778, began to begin in 1778. It was already evident in 1749 that the church would be small and then gathered 2,800 forints to expand the church not yet completed. The interior was painted in 1908 by the efforts of. A. Dudinsky. The painted church is blessed by the district vicar of. Koloman Zhatkovich. The Murovan Greek Catholic Church now belongs to the Orthodox community, and the Orthodox Church moved to Greek Catholics in 1990, after legalization of the denomination. On September 6, 1992, the distinguished bishop J. Holovach dedicated a stone for the construction of a new Greek Catholic church to 1500 people. In 1996, the Orthodox community began rebuilding the old Basilica of Christmas, which completely changed the look of the ancient church. The cross to the right of the main entrance was put in 1903 by the brothers Ivan, Vasily and Mikhail Turianytsia, the cross to the left of the entrance was established in 1917.
