Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the oldest in the Podillya, built in 1635, in the traditional Carpathian style. The bell tower at the church was built in the XVII century. It is known that the temple stood in this place before. As early as 1581, under the foundations and initiatives of Chortkiv's artisans: the furrier Mykola Drachuk and the Swede Gavril Zhuravlya, the construction of the wooden church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary began. Construction was completed in 1584. Three times the church was destroyed during attacks on the city of Tatars and Turks. But each time the temple was rebuilt almost again. The modern appearance of the church corresponds to 1635. The church was rebuilt several more times. In the nineteenth century, two narthexes were added to the north side of the temple. Architecturally, the temple is a classic, three-part, two-story house type with a dome with a cross. The main volumes are wide, covered by a common roof roof. In the church there is an iconostasis made in the XVIII century. Wooden belfry, frame construction, consists of three tiers. The upper tier is covered with a tent roofing roof.

I really liked it! The clergyman, who handcuffed the grass, left the work and told about the history of the church, showed the interior decoration, did not spare time for casual tourists.

Very nice. A wooden structure that stood for centuries and served its purpose. Very kind and understanding father. He opened a temple for us and spent a short excursion. Made it very interesting! Exhilarating. Well organized area. Simple and sophisticated! It turns out that people have invested their soul. I recommend it!
