Trinity Church in the village of Kotelva, Poltava region. One of the two surviving churches of Kotelevsky district. Built in 1809-12 in the style of classicism. This is the fourth Trinity Church of the parish. The first was built in the early XVII century. And the third, built in 1783, burned down by lightning on May 21, 1808. After that, the parishioners, led by priests Peter Smakovsky and Mark Panteleev, decided to build a brick church. The temple was consecrated on October 13 and 15, 1812. At the same time when Moscow was occupied by Napoleon Bonaparte's troops .... The brick bell tower was completed only 23 years later - in 1835 ... After the communists destroyed almost all the churches in Kotelevshchina, the Trinity Church remains the main shrine in the region. It has the status of an architectural monument of national importance №592 / 0.
