Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

We came with the family from another city to the church on 07.10.2020 at noon. The church itself is being restored, next to the existing church. The territory is closed, there is no way to enter. There was a nice grandmother sitting at the entrance, who approached the gate and when we asked if it was possible to go to the church, she answered that it was possible and now she would call a woman who would open the entrance. A few minutes later, the grandmother came out and asked to wait, because the woman washes her head. We waited. Later, the woman came out and was very angry, behaved superficially, said that she would not open it because she did not see the guide with us (hint at the entrance fee, I understand). It all looked as if the church and the surrounding area were the private property of this woman, and for some reason she decided to defend it quite aggressively. I have a question: what kind of faith is it that does not let people in? Isn't the church a state property that gives every Ukrainian the right to visit it? How much does that woman have to pay to go in? Does faith have a price? "Do you want to watch? Look through the fence!" We were told. Look, if it can be called so, because the church is surrounded by a high wooden fence, through which almost nothing is visible. By the way, we just thanked and left, decided not to ask unnecessary questions. And as we left, we heard this woman shouting loudly at the good grandmother who wanted to let us in. Very spiritual ....

It would be good if the church was repaired and services were held there!)

I love such abandoned buildings, they look so old and a little creepy. At the same time, it is a pity that such an architecture is collapsing, that there is either no money in the budget, or there is no need for it, as a result, the building just crumbles and dies, year after year.

The old Catholic church, in the days of PcSS, was rebuilt into a library. There is a legend that underground passages are starting from the church.
