In 1907-1914, the village community built the Church of St. George the Victorious, which still exists today. The village of Skomorohy belonged to her parish. Today the church is called St. George's Orthodox Church. Unfortunately, it still belongs to the commercial-terrorist sect MP-FSB. The maximum number of believers who take part in worship services on major religious holidays is 250. People in the vicinity of the village have lived since the time of Trypillia. Near the village are settlements of the third millennium BC. (Trypillia), I thousand BC and VIII-IX centuries. not. The name of the village did not change. The origin of the name is not known for sure. Most likely, the name of the village comes from the nature of the soil in its territory (sandy). There are also two legends about the origin of the name of the village: The first house in the village was built on sand; The village was ruled by Mr. Pesotsky, after whom the village was named. The second legend is rather dubious, as the village was known by this name long before Pesotsky appeared. On the outskirts of the village a settlement of VI-VII centuries was discovered, bronze objects of ancient Russian times were found. It is known that in the XVIII century the village was owned by Mr. Pesotsky. The house of the lord is preserved in the village, and in the center of the cemetery there is his (?) Grave with an ancient monument. The villagers suffered greatly from the Holodomor, deliberately organized by the Soviet authorities in 1932-33.
