Remains of a settlement of the Trypillia culture were found near Velykyi Nyzhirtsi. The village was founded in the 17th century. In 1917 the village became a part of the Ukrainian People's Republic. As a result of the defeat of the First Liberation War, the village was occupied by Bolshevik invaders for a long time. St. Paraskevi Church (wooden) was built in 1912. During the Soviet rule it was half-destroyed (there was a village club). During the independence of Ukraine, the church was restored. Unfortunately, the church is dominated by the commercial-terrorist sect MP-FSB.

A wooden church desecrated by the Soviet authorities. According to the plan, the temple was five-domed. Built in 1912-1913. During the reign of communism, the club was located indoors. Currently in force.
