Small, quiet and cozy ruined castle. Spectacular views around. Be sure to visit the pine forest opposite the castle.

The ruined Kudryntsi Castle is perched on a hilltop overlooking the Zbruch River in Borschiv Raion, Ternopil Oblast, Ukraine, 25 km west of a larger fortress in Kamianets-Podilskyi. It was built in the early 17th century by Jan Szczęsny Herburt and throughout the ensuing century was subjected to repeated sieges by the Cossacks and the Turks. By the 19th century, some portions of the walls had crumbled away, and the structure was abandoned to its fate.

One of the most favorite Podolsk - and what's there. Ukrainian - castles. The road to Kudryntsi in Kamenets is traditionally awful - but there are such landscapes that you get pleasure from a very slow ride. After 8 years ago the quarry at the foot of the castle mountain Strelki ate a piece of the path to the castle, a new path appeared, but in my opinion steeper. Climb, shorter. should be done with caution. Wonderful views of the castle - from a nearby mountain (the ascent begins from the bridge over a stream near the village shop) - the one on top of which is a wooden cross in honor of the new millennium. Horses graze around the castle. which only enlivens the already beautiful landscape. Tourists, despite the off-road, are almost always - yes, a few, but there are.
