Preobrazhensʹkyy Sobor

In 1692, on the site of the previously built wooden church on the model of the Trinity Cathedral in Chernigov, the stone Transfiguration Cathedral in the Ukrainian Baroque style was built by architect Johann-Baptist Sauer and local masters M. Tomashevsky and O. Piryatinsky). Consecrated by the newly-built 7-head Cathedral, Metropolitan of Kiev Varlamiy. In 1728, the central dome of the cathedral collapsed. After restoration in 1754, the cathedral became five-domed.

The Transfiguration Cathedral is located in the Mgar monastery built in 1692. A monument of architecture of the 17th century. Now Divine Liturgy is served every day.
