It was designed by architect Yu. M. Dmitrenko on Railway Station Square, and the tab was consecrated on July 16, 1885 by the archbishop of Kherson and Odessa Nikanor (Brovkovich). The compound before the revolution served as a transit pilgrimage point between Russia and Athos. Pilgrims here found an overnight stay, meals and issued travel documents. At the courtyard there were two churches - in the name of the Apostle Andrew the First-Called and the Monk Sergius of Radonezh. After the revolution, the courtyard was transformed by Soviet power into the Palace of Culture of the tram and trolleybus control. In October 1996, with the great efforts of the Metropolitan of Odessa and Izmail Agafangel, the building was returned to the Odessa diocese. Currently, in the courtyard there is a temple in honor of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God, and on the second floor there is an assembly hall in which diocesan meetings are regularly held.
