Church of St. ap. John the Theologian is the most important monument of the small village of Gaishyn. It was established in the late 19th century no later than the 1880s. The temple was built in the style of classicism. Elegant pediments, wooden decoration of the facade, large images of the Kazan Mother of God and John the Theologian are clearly visible here. The building is made of wooden bars, now they are painted white, but until the 21st century the church was in different periods light blue and blue. A great asset of the Gaishyn church is the interior painting, which was painted many years ago by the provincial artist Kondratenko. It is perfectly preserved on the walls of the building due to the fact that the temple was fully functional even in the Soviet period. It was not until the mid-1930s that the premises became empty and the church was closed, then in 1942 parishioners were again allowed to attend services. The modern Church of St. John the Theologian continues to operate as usual, despite its considerable age and great historical significance.
