St. Michael's Cathedral is the oldest building of the Vydubychi monastery, erected in 1070-1088 by Grand Duke Vsevolod, the son of Yaroslav the Wise. Although construction began when Vsevolod was Prince of Pereyaslav, and was carried out during his reign in Chernihiv, he is considered the founder of the monastery and the founder of the cathedral. The eastern wall of the church suffered from landslides caused by floods. In the middle of the XVII century. the church was restored by Metropolitan Petro Mohyla at his own expense. After a fire in 1760, the cathedral was restored by architect MI Yurasov. The next restoration was carried out in 1974-1981. The modern St. Michael's Cathedral is a cubic structure with one apse and a sloping roof, above which rises a tower. The plastered eastern part of the building and the dome have baroque forms of the middle of the XVIII century, the western part is freed from plastering and demonstrates ancient Russian construction techniques.

An extremely cozy and at the same time emotionally strong place. You even forget that you are in a big city. Feels strong union with ancestors. I advise everyone to visit.
