The temple of the miraculous icon of the Mother of God of Kazan, the patron saint of the military in their campaigns and battles, was built in Chigirin in 1888. "Its light brown brick walls looked beautiful and stark, yet the light green and gold star domes differed in originality and sophistication. There were 16 bells of different size on the two-story bell tower located above the entrance to Kazan Cathedral." The temple was in operation until 1934, then closed by Soviet power and dismantled. Renovated in 2004 at a donation of patrons and consecrated in honor of the icon of the Mother of God of Kazan by Metropolitan Safroni in 2007. The temple is subordinate to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kiev Patriarchate. Abbot: Mescha Vasily Petrovich
