In Podobovka, Zakarpattia region, one of the oldest wooden churches in Ukraine has been preserved - the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, built in the 18th century. It is a kind of monument of sacred wooden architecture and a very elegant building. Having survived more than 200 years of history, the temple has survived to this day, although as a result of some reconstructions, it has partially lost its original appearance. The church was built in 1785, belongs in its architecture to the Baroque type of wooden churches. The temple is built of oak beams and consists of two logs. The architectural ensemble is complemented by a two-tiered bell tower. According to local legend, this church was built in the XVII century on the opposite bank of the valley, and its current location was moved much later. Next to the church is an ancient cross, on which you can see paintings on the theme of gospel stories, made in the early twentieth century.
