Church of the Ascension. 1894. (UOC) The first mention of Volovets dates back to 1433. The parish existed in the 17th century, and in 1692 Volovets was a branch of Kanora. At that time the priests were Prokip and Ivan Oleksakovichi. According to the urban record of 1699, the landowner transferred the plot of Luka Rushkovych to the parish. In 1733 the wooden church of St. Michael with two bells. In 1778, the branches were Kanora with a wooden church and Yablunovo. The next mention of a wooden church is in 1797. The first wooden church stood in the High End, but burned down. The present brick church was built under the priest Anton Fankovich on the site of a magnificent wooden Boyko church, which was moved here from the old cemetery until 1890. The foundation was consecrated on June 8, and soon a new wall was erected around the old church, and the tree was then taken out through the door. The brick church was built by masters from Mukachevo, and the stones were transported from Skotarsky. The church was consecrated on November 28, 1893. Near the church there is a brick belfry, built at the expense of the community by Fedor Tymkovych and Yuri Madyar, and a stone cross from 1904. There are several beautiful wrought tomb crosses in the cemetery near the church. In 1934, under the priest M. Fankovych, the church was overhauled by local masters Ivan and Petro Lyakhy, led by engineer Mykhailo Pop, who also equipped the iconostasis. Many church attributes contain the names of donors and donors. Thus, Kalyna and Yuriy Tymkovych bought one Gospel for the proceeds from the sale of oxen, the Sofilkanychs presented the image of the Mother of God, and I. Raichynets paid for the artistic decoration of the church. The old church was left Orthodox. On May 23, 1996, Bishop I. Semediy consecrated the stone for the foundation of the new Greek Catholic Church in the presence of the architect of the future church O. Lyashenko, the parish priest Fr. Vasily Blyashin, curator M. Tokach. By 1999, the church building with two slender towers was built.
