Good school. In the first half of the 20 - ies of the last century there was no village Smolki. There were small settlements on the right bank of the Smolka River, which in the second half of the 1920s merged into one village called Smolka. According to the old-timers, a school in the village was built in 1928. The red brick-built wooden building had a pretty good appearance. It had 2 spacious classrooms, 2 small utility rooms and a teacher's apartment. During the Great Patriotic War and occupation, the school did not work. The premises were occupied by the Germans and the police for some time or were empty. During this time it suffered considerable destruction: broken and burned window frames, partially doors, roof mounting. Training resumed after being released from occupation in January 1944. The school was hardly heated, there were no textbooks, exercise books, writing supplies. Over time, the lives of people and schools improved: textbooks, notebooks, and writing supplies began to arrive; instead of burned desks in the classrooms, benches, board tables on crosses were made for students. Classes were crowded. Teachers in the first years after the war worked: Filippov Vera (worked at this school and before the war), Kucherovskaya Olga Prokopovna, Rebel Nina Musiyovna, Gumenyuk Pasha Trokhimovna, Borovskyi Eugene Nikolay - Vych, Pavlovskaya Olga Ivanovich. In 1956, the Smolkiv Elementary School was reorganized into a seven-year school. This exacerbated the problem of expanding the educational material base. In the fifties, then popular "folk" method; With the help of parents, teachers, students, with some help from the village council, a new room for three classrooms was built, an apartment for teachers was liquidated, the classrooms were reduced, which made it possible to create two or four classrooms in the old room instead. Thus, the restored school had 7 classrooms, which enabled it to work normally in 2 shifts in parallel classes. During these years the school was transferred to an 8-year term of study. In the second half of the 1950s, a stone crushing plant and a village for its workers began construction on the southern outskirts of the village, which led to an increase in the number of children in the school district. At that time it was decided to add 3 more classrooms to the constructed premises, which was done during 1965 - 1966. As before, teachers and students took the most active part in the construction of the school. The Carpathian military district provided a great help, which handed over the GAS truck to the school. 3 large bright classrooms and 2 auxiliary rooms were added. This made it possible to switch to one-stop learning, which had a positive effect on improving educational, educational and extracurricular work in school. Up to 20 circles (subject, technical, artistic) were working at that time. Study rooms were created: physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, Ukrainian and Russian. 3 extended day groups for elementary students began to work. Imported new furniture: desks, tables, chairs, cabinets ... A great job in the equipment of offices was done by the teacher of work Anatoliy Horonitsky. Under the guidance of biology teacher Elena Wolf, students have grown a school apple orchard. In the afternoons, students with physical education teacher Parfenyuk Akim Onisimovich equipped a sports ground: 2 volleyball courts, 2 basketball courts, jumping pits, a treadmill, crossbeams, ladders and more. The school had 40 pairs of skis. In 1969, the village of Smolka was annexed to the city of Novograd - Volyn. By the decision of the City Council of September 5, 1969, the Smolkivska School was renamed to Novograd - Volyn eight-year school № 10.
